Haha. Apparently I'm not the rookie here:-P I only typed "imagined" before.. uhh.. correcting myself.
Anyhow.. oxytocin is found in both males and females, though its action in females is apparently more significant in certain ways. I don't really know anything about oxytocin, but I'll check out that article and wikipedia.
As for shaving legs.. I believe that you are probably right that in some cultures that was how it started.
