Simply beautiful. Hitchcock truly is one of the great masters of staging, and The Birds is still my favorite of his after all of these years. The ending is so blunt, and cold. I love it.

I agree. While I tend to find most of Hitchcock's other films 'clever', The Birds is the one I find actually disturbing. The scene where you hear the schoolchildren singing in their classroom while the birds gather outside on the climbing frame is one of my all-time favourites.
