I was struck down with the flu and so I left college about halfway through the day. I was feeling pretty sorry for myself on my walk to the bus station, until I noticed a huge bloodstain on the road where a bus had hit somebody a couple hours earlier. I knew then that I wasn't having the worst luck of the day.
