I consider Oppenheimer more as a Victor Frankenstein archetype than possessed by a fallen angel.

First, we must recognize that there is retrospect in this moral critique, it's easy to imagine absolute evil without considering Nazi Germany's own research, the amorality (no, not immorality) of the project of science, as well as the benefits of nuclear power. Second, we must also recognize Oppenheimer's post-war work in trying to reverse nuclear weapons proliferation.
