a coworker has a barn cat that's a runt. a few weeks ago, they noticed an open red sore on it's side. after poking around on it for awhile, a head popped out, looked around and went back inside.

due to the fact that it's a barn cat, they are unwilling to spend money on a vet or surgery.

last I heard, they tried to smother the parasite. the wound is looking better, but every now and then a (now smaller) head will come out and say hi.
