Watched 2 movies this weekend...

1. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen
Really good movie. SOmehow I've missed this one up until now, which seems strange to me, since it really fits with the types of movies I watched growing up.

2. A Bookshelf On Top Of The Sky: 12 Stories About John Zorn
Great clips of John Zorn doing what he does so well, and hearing what he thinks about various things. Still, the movie itself dragged because a lot of time was spent showing how hard it was to make the movie. I don't care about that. A lot of documentaries are hard to make, but most pull through and accomplish what they were going for, or at least convey that they did, even if it didn't turn out how they liked. In this the director talked a lot about how she couldn't get the interview, how she was going to get all of this material together, blah blah blah... We watched this for Zorn, just show us Zorn.
