I work with someone who is the master of making those short, self-containing statements which are impossible to reply to.

I also work with someone who makes flippant, sweeping comments and the logic behind them is always so abstract that it's impossible to understand how they've made the leap from one thing to the other, so they're impossible to reply to.

I seem to spend most of my time at work wondering how to get out of something that I agreed whole-heartedly with a minute ago (when I didn't know what was going on).
