screaming skull,
i was c-sam on the old board. i was only a slight presence. and then i dropped off the face of the earth and therefore the board. then i started adjectives-ex again after that.
shentov,
the branca guitar is hard to make. it's a weird thing, but when you really get into it it's fun as hell. very versitile. you have so many more pickups to play with and all the different sounds that you can get from a slide. and switching the different amp set-ups. running it stereo and also playing it with two slides. my friend made a device that is basically just a really crazy highly sensitive pickup on a black box (i call it the "catholic block") and i can play that as a slide and then run the branca guitar through two amps. so, i have up to three amps going at once with mad guitar noise. a slide and a pickup as a slide. man, it can be intense. expecially if you have a lot of power from the amps. once i was laying it on the ground and dropping broken glass on it. some of the glass would stay and change the pitches and then some of it would just bounce off and cause the delay pedal to freak out. fun stuff. it was at a small venue, too that hadn't heard anything like that so they were all really confused and that added to my penchant for performing. unfortunately, it was the same night that Text of Light was in town so i had to miss that to be pissed for a while.
you should make a bass version. i have seen this band from Beijing playing one of the larger versions of the instrument and they had Piano strings on it i think. so, with a double-bodied bass you could put some interesting materials on the bridges so that you can get really great sounds out of it. just make sure that you use really strong dulcimer pins or something so that it can handle the extra heavy strings.
