yeah but that drive is only really valuable one-way, south to the Bay, where I was just riding around on the BART this morning. its so nice to keep up your public transportation routine, even while on vacation. but that southbound drive through southern oregon into Eureka, is indeed undescribeable. the only other place in the country I can think of that tops it is Bryce canyon and Utah (yes, I know, I said utah). google image that one for an acid trip provided by wind and water errosion.
