Well the thing is that one feels one's faith and then is forced by conviction to act upon it. All too often people incorrectly act and find that as a way to build the feeling which is backwards and easily manipulated.
Also, they act upon others by "spread the word" but religion should be entirely self focused. The best kind of people that come to religion are ones that feel that there is something wrong with themselves that needs changing. Religion shouldn't be for the self-satisfied.
