Mmmm, where I'm from (Georgia) shopping carts are called buggies.
And I do use the word "y'all" in everyday conversation.
In addition, I've noticed that I use the word "reckon" more often than most Americans, as far as I can tell.
However, despite what many southerners claim, southern dialects of American English are no more related to modern-day British English than other American dialects. I'm not sure how that rumour started, but I think it has something to do with mountain folk retaining Elizabethan terms. Anyway, all varieties of American English are equally different from British English. Er. Or at least that's what Steven Pinker says.
