Eric Steel trained his cameras on the Golden Gate Bridge for 1 year. His cameras witnessed 24 suicide attempts. 19 deaths are shown on film.
He then interviewed the families of the victims, without telling them that he had the suicide on camera.
Here's more info, and just be aware of what you're about to see.
the 20/20 episode article
New Yorker Article
and the trailer
the trailer does not show anyone's actual jump, but the 20/20 episode showed it repeatedly.
i watched about 5 different people jumping.
the girl in the trailer that there are pictures of, the photographer actually pulled her back and saved her.
their bodies normally shatter when they hit the water after their 4 second freefall.
Over 1200 people have committed suicide of the bridge, only a handful are known to have survived, including Eric Hines, who is interviewed about his jump and his efforts to put a taller barrier on the bridge.
