the US has developed many small nukes in the past - nuclear grenades, nuclear landmines, etc. Many of these were stashed in eastern Europe during the cold war and subsequently lost or forgotten about. I don't know if they could still function after all this time. Nukes were considered in the 50's for use in massive conrtsuction projects, i.e, the loon in Vermont who wanted to nuke some of the mountains there for a better ski slope.

The US is currently fighting a nuclear war in Iraq - and these are dirty nukes - with the use of depleted uranium. The question is what will hurt the troops in the long term more, the DU or the aluminum in the vaccines they were forced to take.
