I know people that got onto Sally Jessy & also Springer by inventing some love triangle nonsense. A lot of the people are (talentless) aspiring actors on these shows. In the situations where there is a "real
" issue to be addressed, just as in reality tv, the guests are also coached by the show's producers to behave in a certain tabloid tv manner.

In short, it's akin to professional wrestling; like wrestling, only people of low intelligence watch such staged tripe.

So, I hope that helps to iilluminate one's understanding of just how these freaks get on television.

& yeah, it's pretty clear that daytime tv is geared towards the unemployed &/or the elderly.
