Update: had a conversation with the Year 11 team leader at recess, then another conversation with maths teacher at lunch. The basic thinking was that I need to have a more detailed plan of action to be able to work on it, and talking about whether or not to pre-warn the class.
So I spent a while on making a flowchart of all sorts of possibilities for what I could do with myself, and how that'll work in the end, and whether or not I'd spoken to student welfare, and whether I had any other friends...and I'm more than a little anxious and uncertain about what I'm doing, and if it's going too far too quickly.
