After watching it the first time and wishing everyone involved would starve to death in a hole made of turds, I kept hearing people say "its not shit anymore, it ends up dealing with some really serious issues in a really serious way".

I preferred it when it was just a bunch of horrible teenagers being horrible teenagers, at least then it knew what it was; I could stay away from it, and it could stay away from me. Once it started trying to be all serious to make you think it was actually morally respectable it became much more sinister, like a paedophile disguised as Sir David Attenborough.
