Yeah. I torrented this one a few weeks ago. I deleted it a few days later.

For the most part: Pasolini's films are mostly unwatchable only because he's such a shitty craftsman, and it's ONLY for the subversion/exploitation that I sometimes watch his stuff. And there wasn't nearly enough in this one.

ST MATTHEW's the only Pas. where I feel the material transcends (haha) the director's astonishing lack of simple filmmaking skills. MAMA ROMA, perhaps his second best, is "good", but it also feels like "Italian neo-realism by the book". I felt like I'd seen it a hundred times before.
