What a dick.
I'm sure he's watched plenty of American films with translations. Should he have not watched those because he would on;y understand 6% of it?
That's just silly. Being a fan of his films, I would like to understand French so that I could appreciate them without subtitles, but what kind of filmmaker puts so much weight on the dialogue? I don't need to speak French to understand the visuals and the non-speaking sounds, which I'm pretty damn sure makes up about 85% of a movie.
