how fucked up is this!

saw this. fuckin mental. yr man jumped out in front of a train when she got free. amazing how this "big strong man" can be all mean and abuse a little girl and hold her for ten years against her will and then when the games up and he's gonna get caught he throws himself out in front of a train rather than take responsiblity for his own actions, the real coward comes into play then.. i feel so sorry for her, i hope she can get her life somehow back on track and begin to maybe trust in human nature again and realise all men or people are not like the man who held her captive for 10 years. The accouts of her been reunited with her Dad at the police station were reported to be very joyous, i hope she has a lot of joy in her life for the next few years to somehow make up for what she had to go thru

i also feel sorry for the people who probably had to endure trains been delayed because of this wankbags selfish actions.

apparantly she was 'let out' to go to parks and such, but was under such strict command that she didnt run away.

the thing that impressed me the most is that the first thing she said to theneighbour she talked to after her escape was "i am *insert her name,i don't remember it*."
i mean,after ten years of captivity i'd probably run around screaming help help help,she stated her name,i think this could be a good sign that her mind is strong.like she has been able to mantain her identity,if you understand what i mean.i hope so.amazing story.

yeah, know exactly what you mean, i think he's whole approach was to brain wash her into his way of thinking but after all this time and all the tunnels under his houes were built, it didnt work, she remained head strong.

apparently she has Stockholm Syndrome, a psychological condition where an abductee begins to sympathise with their captor

This one is especially odd though. Not for a ransom or anything and it's not clear if he was abusing her or anything. If he wasn't, his motives are somewhat bizzare....

Not that kidnapping someone to sexually abuse them is 'normal' but it does happen.....this just seems extra odd and fucked up to me for some reason.

That poor girl has been scared for life. The years she spent in that room were very crucial in her development, mentally and physically. She's gonna need a lot of help by professionals to live a normal life from now on. Sad.

this has been in the news here a lot because it resembles a big case we've had in belgium.. dutroux.. it might have inspired this kidnapper, because there are some striking similarities.

i feel really sorry for the girl, it's horrible that things like this can happen to kids.. i hopeshe'll have a rather normal life afterall (although thats not very realistic)
