Fuzz bass
 

What's the best pedal to get that screaming flat tone? A good example is Soul Sucking Jerk by Beck ( Standin right here with a beer in my hand, my mouth is full of sand ). That's the sound I wanna get

Fuzz Factory? That's an expensive one...

The bass fuzz is one of my favorite pedals of all time. The problem with using a guitar fuzz on bass is that you often end up with a filthy fuzzed out tone that has no definition and is completely lost in a mix.


It may sound cool when you play by yourself, but when everyone else comes in, the bass is lost. No one wants that. Our bass fuzz is actually somewhere between fuzz

and heavy overdrive. It is full of balls and grit.

It explodes with ferocity, but leaves your low end intact.


It's like a heavy weight boxer that is somehow very articulate (like mike tyson). Mark from pavement (and now sonic youth) uses this guy, but he is secretly afraid of the volume it puts out. I didn't say that.

Fuzz factory isn't expensive... I got mine for like $70.

i use this rolled off at 1.6k before this but my mxr is an older version than this one shown.

Nice site with good choices.

Not being able to boost frequencies below 100 hz sounds like a problem for me, given that a bass goes down to 40 hz

im not a bass player, so not a huge issue for what i use it for
