I thought you lived in England? Weird.

pokkeherrie 12.23.2009 03:22 AM

I've never tried to access the BBC UK only content via proxies, but I've read somewhere that it's very hard because they maintain a blacklist of UK proxies.

There's a torrent site specifically for UK television/radio programs called UKNova. It shouldn't be a problem to sign up there if you try a few times.

atsonicpark 12.23.2009 04:07 AM

I'm not sure what you're asking... you should be able to download any torrents no matter where you live...?

pokkeherrie 12.23.2009 05:22 AM

torrents, yes.
but many broadcasting organisations have their online television content only available in the country they're based in.

Tokolosh 12.23.2009 05:41 AM

I've downloaded loads of BBC content @ isohunt.
Usually a day or two after they get aired -when seeds are still high.

Pokkeherrie, have you noticed that Mininova is virtually nonexistent in Holland as of late November.
Fuck Stichting BREIN!

pokkeherrie 12.23.2009 06:00 AM

I think mininova is pretty much finished everywhere now (their servers are located in holland). I hardly ever used it though.

Fuck BREIN nonetheless.

atsonicpark 12.23.2009 06:32 AM

Yeah, mininova dying = godfuckingdammitwhatthefuck

Demonoid is supposedly back but eh..

basically there are some shows that are only available on the bbc and channel 4 website players, there are no torrents for them and i wanted to watch them but they have proxy settings so that if your outside the uk you cant.

if i changed my ip address will it fuck up my computer? also thanks for all the help peeps.

Tokolosh 12.23.2009 01:29 PM

No, it won't fuck up your computer.
I presume that you are on a pc?
Here's a link that might be of some help.

jon boy 12.23.2009 01:36 PM

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Tokolosh again.

thanks mate!

Tokolosh 12.23.2009 01:44 PM

You're welcome. Make sure to try the first method (disconnecting your modem)
before proceeding with a run. It usually works.

verme (prevaricator) 12.23.2009 02:10 PM

you're getting the basic idea, you need a different ip.
but what you're trying to do won't work, because you need an ip from a different region than your isp's.

that's why you need a proxy server, in this case you need one in the uk.
