So I just finished watching Spinal Tap...
 

and it made me nostalgic for my old college days. I went to Music Business school at Loyola University New Orleans. In my Music Business Forum, the final at the end of the semester was a "Spinal Final". All we had to do was show up and watch Spinal Tap.

The professor's logic on this was that once we understood the innerworkings of the music business, it became that much funnier.

when spinal tap was screened in california for a bunch of rockers back when it premiered, eddie van halen said he did not laugh one bit, because it was all too painfully true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that always makes me laugh

Thanks. It's been about a year and a half now, I guess. Weird losing a friend so young.
However, I do think he would appreciate my using his drummer-death in a Spinal Tap thread. And I do seriously think my current activities could border on that territory if we don't keep certain elements in check.
And I didn't mean to be Captain Bringdown there, either. Sorry about that.

My mom is in Big Fish. Well, a lot of people from around here are actually, just like The Grass Harp and Fried Green Tomatos. All three were filmed in the area.

I don't write "funny" music, but I do wear ridiculous outfits and play pompous space/prog/psych through huge amps. And we have a keyboard player with long grey hair and giant wizard eyebrows (and a keyboard setup on two sides of him, which includes a real Mellotron). And a bassist who is about nine feet tall. And we like fog machines. And lighting.
