Strings
I'm going to restring one of my guitars using two packs so I can play some of the unison tunings. My only question is which would be most versatile: Double B strings on 1 and 2 or some other variation?

Im not sure but I went all out when I did it.
two different octaves of E. If you want to beable to play more than one kind of thing then I suggest. (1-6 low to high) EE-BB-EE |
I just bought some Fender originals (10 gauge). & of course, they were strung onto my 1966 Fender Mustang.

Strings is a porno shop here in Vegas. But to answer yr question I like strings that are at least a 10 gage.
|
they wont be very versatile, but for lower tunings use about a 12-15 for the E string. dont even try to tune it to regular, but trust me, tuned down heavy gauges sound beautiful.

If it's for the tuning I think it is, I like my unison strings the same gauge, because it gives it more of a uniform feel, as apposed to playing one string at normal tension and playing one wet noodle.
