The Munsters vs. The Addams Family

VS.

Personally, I'm much more of a Munsters fan myself.

al shabbray 01.23.2009 05:18 PM

me too.
because of childhood memories.

I had to go with the Addams Family. The Munsters were just monsters, and their family didn't make sense to me (a vampire had a daughter that looks like the bride of Frankenstein's monster, then she marries Frankenstein's monster, and they have a werewolf for a son??). The Addams Family were just messed up people, which is way creepier to me.

pbradley 01.23.2009 05:22 PM

How about just Carolyn Jones as Morticia. SHWING.

But I just wrote it...

Kloriel 01.23.2009 05:45 PM

how the hell are the munsters winning this

Antagon 01.23.2009 06:21 PM

I chose the Addams Family because they do not seem as tame as the munsters. The Addams family is sardonic, witty and absolutely fucked up, that's what i love about them.

Sonic Youth 37 01.23.2009 06:35 PM

Addams Family all the way mafuckas

LifeDistortion 01.23.2009 06:37 PM

The Addams Family were rich bastards who flaunted thier eccentricness. The Munsters tried too hard to fit in.

Kloriel 01.23.2009 07:09 PM

The Addams family had Raul Julia

Addams Family - no competition. I own all the DVDs of the TV show and the two theatrical films.

At the time Gomez and Morticia were the most sexual most in-love couple ever on TV. HOW WEIRD a married couple showing sexual attraction between each other.

Lurch stole the show on TV.

The thing that's always drawn me most to The Munsters, aside from the whole monster-family gimmick is the onslaught of cheap, humorous, and ultimately wacky practical effects they use in each episode. Every episode is chock full of ingenious visual gags. Also, the dialogue is 80% bad horror puns... some of it coming off almost like a John Waters film.

noisereductions 02.19.2011 06:01 PM

Munsters duh

floatingslowly 02.19.2011 08:02 PM

Addams Family because it was way more goth.

as a youth, Wednesday was almost as delicious to me as the pink Buggaloo; whereas, Herman Munster's fucking idiot laugh and dragster made me want to destroy things.

artsygrrl 02.19.2011 09:38 PM

Addams Family!

Thank you, Thing!

SuperCreep 02.20.2011 10:57 AM

i'd go with the munsters, but i was about eight when i watched both shows on nick at nite often and the addams family always bored the hell out of me.

krastian 02.20.2011 03:08 PM

The Addams Family because of all the great characters.

DeadDiscoDildo 02.20.2011 04:08 PM

The Munsters were WAY better and their theme song was WAY better!

Fucking HORROR punk SURF!

YES WAY BRO

I used to have the soundtrack album for The Addams Family TV show, which took me ages to track down some 25 years ago. Some of the music was beautiful... Morticia's Song was my favourite, though I never heard it in an episode.
