Neil Young-Trans

I've been going thru my records and "rediscovering" some old favorites. Todays LP: "Trans" by Neil Young. Lotta people don't dig these sounds but they be crazy yo! This record will probably be of interest to SY fans due to the inclusion of "Computer Age" which they covered on The Bridge tribute album. (awesome cover by the way). So yeah! So buttons!

I used to have TRANS on vinyl. I loved it. Young discovers Kraftwerk and Devo. So great. Lost the record in a move about 6 years ago now. Never rebought it -- I think the CD is import only, huh? I wanna hear it again!

Funny record.

Gainsbarre 12.15.2008 09:55 AM

I'm pretty sure it's never been on CD in the states. The vinyl is relatively cheap last I knew though...

noisereductions 12.15.2008 10:04 AM

I'm pretty sure every instance of me spotting the CD it had a sticker that said "import" on it. Perhaps I'm wrong? I haven't paid Close attention to Young's discography in the past 5 years or so.

Trans blows my mind everytime I hear it. It's that good

viewtiful_alan 12.15.2008 05:52 PM

I still don't have it... but I do have Everybody's Rockin on vinyl, and I've gotta say, I never would have taken Neil for a compotent Rockabilly artist, but he proved me wrong, such as he loves to do.

I have listened Weld in the last week...

But still gotta get into his 80's stuff

Funny, I "rediscovered" this one last week. Unfortunately underrated. The only song I don't like on it is the misleading opener "Little Thing Called Love."

I shouted for Sample and Hold when I saw him last Friday in Philadelphia.

By the by, for Trans-fans there is an officially released DVD of the Trans tour. I forget the title, but trust me (there's druids!) it's worth seeing.

noisereductions 12.16.2008 08:57 AM

Also, I wish he'd release Human Highway DVD. The Devo shit is amazing.

My feelings exactly. I haven't listened to any of Neil's 80s material yet though.
