A Prayer for Today
 

It's on days like these, when you wake up, look in the mirror and spot a pretty face that I'm thankful for existing. A thing of fragile beauty stares at me from the mirror and reminds me that I'm one of the lucky ones, the chosen epitome of everything that is sexy about a human being, a vessel for avant-genetics.

You bite your lip and think ''So this is true, not everyone is given this gift. I shall cherish this moment and be humble about it''. Then you dress up, drink the first cup of coffee of the day, and ponder on the atrocious consequences that being a waste of human tissue causes for the doomed, the unlucky martyrs, those who never had the chance to feel good about themselves.

Amen.

I feel pretty. Oh, so pretty. I feel pretty, and witty and gay. And I pity any girl who isn’t me today.

A prayer for today is a disappointment tomorrow.
