Hello to everyone

How are you all doing?
I am very busy with school and I don't have much free time to go on the internet, except for research and that sort of thing, but I wanted to drop in and see how everyone was doing.
Anyway, hope all is well.
-Becky

I wasn't sure how many people would still be around, and I can't remember when I last posted, so it's nice to hear from you all.

School is going very well. As of now I am planning on majoring in some branch or another of the fine arts. What I will do with such a degree is anyone's guess, can't say I'm too worried about it at the moment. I'm living in an on-campus apartment. Things are good. I'm not sure I have a lot to say. I feel like I've been in an art class bubble since August, and there's not a lot of time to spend on other hobbies. One interest that took a backseat was music listening in general. I prefer to work and study without music on, and because I mostly work or study, that leaves very little room for music. I shocked even myself by taking a one-day roadtrip to Chicago to see the Bad Seeds play. It was on a Sunday, I went with my boyfriend, I nearly fell asleep at the wheel multiple times on the way back (the driving caused us to miss two nights worth of sleep), and I managed to arrive at school just in time for my first class Monday morning. Altogether it was a fun day.

My fall break is about to start, so I'm looking forward to a week of no classes and a lot of papers to write.

good luck with things luxy. sounds like you are on a good path

phoenix 10.16.2008 03:16 AM

hey how's it goin?

pbradley 10.16.2008 03:26 AM

Hello, lux. I, too, am taking an arts class this semester. The papers have been a bit difficult as I'm more vocationally disposed to focusing on the philosophical argument of the paper and forgetting to describe the particulars of the art.

_slavo_ 10.16.2008 03:57 AM

Hi Luxy, nice to hear from you again.

Toilet & Bowels 10.16.2008 05:54 AM

holy shit! luxy!

great to see you.

as to "how (i am) doing"-- busy too. lots of work, and obama owns my weekends, these days.

i hope you're enjoying school (new place?). did you join a writing program or what? keep me posted.

afterthefact 10.16.2008 10:52 AM

IT's cool Lux, just paint us another awesome picture and all is forgiven :)

gmku 10.16.2008 11:27 AM

Hi, Lux! Glad to hear school is going well.

Over the years, I've learned that I concentrate best without music too. Used to not be the case. When I'm writing and editing now, I usually have complete quiet in the house or some movie playing softly in the background. Can't be too loud though.

oh crap i was in a hurry and missed that. boyfriend! is this the guy you were torturing in art class, or the guy your (aunt?) was trying to set you up with, or a new victim?

anyway-- fine arts! very cool. "what to do" etc-- if all else fails, you can be a teacher (not sure if you'd hate that or not).

anyway, living on campus-- yeah sounds like a new school. be well.

sarramkrop 10.16.2008 01:36 PM

Nice to see you on here again.

Yes, it is guy from art class.
I think I would enjoy being a teacher.

Now that my laptop is working (temporarily) I hope I will be able to post here and there sometimes.

And I am glad I did not miss any important birthdays.

fugazifan 10.18.2008 05:54 PM

nice to see you back! my nest friend was at that nick cave show, she said it was amazing.
and dont worry about what to do with a fine arts degree... if it interests you then study it and find out later what to do with it...
i study music and lit. so i know the feeling
