A good drag artist is rare to find but at their best they're amazing. I also like the way, in Britain at least, they have a kind of subversive cultural heritage - a bit like puppetry had in soviet era Czechoslovakia. I recently finished reading Peter Ackroyd's 'Dressing Up', which is basically a lengthy history of Drag in Britain, and it really is one of the best books I've read in ages. I'd recommend it highly.

Do you know if he's Spanish? I'm fascinated by drag culture in latin/catholic culture where, on one level it's even more taboo, but on another seems even more acceptable than it is in protestant countries. It's the sheer pomp, I'm sure.

oh i don't know! drag queens love me. they are attracted to my hair. it's 75% better since i dyed it dark, but as a blonde.. they would come out of the woodwork... hands in my hair and hands down my shirt.

I think that's because you have distinctive movie star looks and drag queens are heavily into that sort of imagery. I know one who calls her/himself Barbie (Terry to his parents) who digs out all the oldies every time i go to see her/him. His/her bedroom looks like Barbie's.

The coolest trannie I know is a beautiful looking electronic wizard into heavy metal - that seems popular with the trannies - and getting shit-faced on white wine.

i figured it was because i have some sort of 40s aspect about myself (that's really a stretch though) or when blonde... a bit of a dolly parton aspect. ha.
