buying shirts to feed sonic youth

for anyone who's bought from the sonic store before,

im interested in buying a couple shirts, whats the quality of the materials like?

Cantankerous 01.24.2008 02:08 AM

pretty good, like any other shirt you'd buy really. at the sy/flaming lips show i attended i got a really nice one w/ the 100% dirty thing on it. the cotton is great. but i think it was womens. i also have the one with the astronauts on it which isn't the greatest quality cotton, it's like generic band shirt cotton which is rather stiff.

su x* 01.24.2008 02:20 AM

i suppose theyd would be the same shirts as the ones on the site..

thanks

they are GREAT cotton. preshrunk, nice and thick, great shirts.

they treat us right.

Rob Instigator 01.24.2008 10:24 AM

see?

sonicl 01.24.2008 10:31 AM

They don't treat us entirely right. The international postage would be a lot less if they did :(

Inhuman 01.24.2008 10:32 AM

Good of you to question it! The Sonic Youth shirts are good quality, and I've never had any problems other than finding the proper sizing. My USAISAMONSTER shirt became wider than it was long after putting it through the wash, and SouthernLord sells using American Apparel, so you have the best quality, so it's good to look out.

sonicl 01.24.2008 10:45 AM

Oh yeah. Good point. US sizes seem to come up smaller than elsewhere.

su x* 01.25.2008 03:21 AM

thanks,

with the money steve shelley will buy himself publicity, and become the more popular of the group

California is part of the U.S. you know.

I want a Sonic Youth shirt. But, yeah, postage, and it's hard to get ideal sizes in shirts for me.

Only three weeks to wait and you can get one without having to pay postage!

What do you mean?

sonicl 01.25.2008 04:26 AM

Only three weeks to the Australian tour :)

(Please don't tell me that I've touched on a sore point)

Norma J 01.25.2008 04:45 AM

No sore point. But I also wont be in attendance. I contemplated paying the admission price, but then opted not to.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 01.25.2008 04:47 AM

I got the orange SY shirt with the high contrast blue image of Thurston.
