I mean who cares, it should be news, but not be on for five hours straight, and only showing clippings of real news for like ten seconds. Ah t.v. news suck.

because its nice to hear of life being saved once in a while
sure its not that important but it sure can get depressing just hearing about how fucked the world is.

The news has always been crap. I remember coming home from school last year, sitting in front of the TV to watch some lame ass show, and the news people having this IMPORTANT UPDATE about this damn baseball guy who was coming back to baseball after hurting his leg or some shit. It went on for like 2 hours and I was ready to smash my TV. Is it too hard to put a scrolling thing at the bottom of the screen so that people can actually watch what they want to watch? That way they can still inform the people who give a rats ass without disturbing everybody who doesn't.

ok a serious "answer"-- thanks to campaigns by the WWF, Greenpeace, etc, we have this notion of whales as ambassadors form the ocean or something-- which i truly think it's great.

i also think it's great the whale was saved-- consider the stench otherwise!

but the 5hours of TV news it's because, thanks to those campaigns mentioned above, saving a whale is just a notch below saving Mickey Mouse. free willy!

emmah, the news has not always been crap. It began after the watergate scandal, and the governemnet decided that the news media needed to focus more on advertisers than on actual news investigation, cuz it amde them look bad.
