I recently logged on here since my password manager instructed me to 'unique' my pass here. And got swallowed in. It's been a good 15 years since I made a post and it's been nice reading through from members I used to post alongside ages ago. A fury of questions seemed to paint the canvas of my head going through this board.



1. How is everyone doing?
2. What happened in June 2021 causing over 5k members? Bots?

3. Why aren't there still 5k members consecutive members online? Y'all are great.

to quickly answer: yes, it's bots, a bot plague [eta: the board was broken for like a year. see: http://www.sonicyouth.com/gossip/sho...d.php?t=123764 - and some minor shit is still broken, like inserting images with the buttons]

everyone else (only a handful of people post here now) seems to be ok

speaking of bots have you seen the bots lining up there? bogdan---, davin--, galen---, samanta---.... a different series registers each day and then they return one by one, even after banned.

i hope their company goes broke paying for this shit hahahaha

I found this forum a few months ago while browsing the website, I've only known about Sonic Youth for a little over a year. Hopefully people will keep posting on here and acting as SYG life support, cuz everyone here seems kool as fuck here. Wish I was alive when it was more active in the mid 2000's, but here I am now :). I'm doing alright, hope everything is going good for everyone!

it's weird how distant I have been the last 10 years considering how active I was from 2002 to 2012 or so, but yeah I guess when a band ends in the manner it did that just happens

but life moves on with or without you, saw all the members play in their respective bands since in the years since, and just happy to see what future release come (live LPs like Brooklyn) maybe more video, would love a full LP boxset of their main albums

The Sonic Youth message board was fun, but not fun enough to be worth being born in another time.

Yeah I can acknowledge that there are things I really like about 2024, and I'm glad I'm living in that time now.

Not sure what the issue is, but despite having my time zone set to UTC+10 it's putting me four hours in the future. Perhaps this is true for everyone?

Same for me. I'm UTC-4 but the clock here is out of whack.
