Charlie Chaplin
has anyone seen any of his movies? i have seen:
The kid Limelight The Great Dictator i have seen some of his short films on tv, but i don't know what they were called or how to find them. anyways, does anyone else like him? i like the movies i have seen him in, but some seem kind of boring. Limelight for example was long and boring. but i still like him. The kid was the greatest movie i have seen of his so far. Awesome awesome!! i love that movie. I remember when i was in 11th grade i did a report on him in History class, but it was an assigned subject so i really didn't take to much interest in it back then. Man i was so stupid, i bet if i wrote my report now it would have been really good instead of the half assed shit i turned in cause now i actually like chaplin and care. anyhoo what do you guys think of him? |
I like Chaplin movies.....dont remember exactly what I have seen but for sure I saw The Great Dictator, pretty forward!!
|
yeah that movie was good. i love it when he would make those weird noises when he was speaking german! hahaha. did you know his love interest in the movie was his real wife? it's weird cause it seems like every girl he worked with he married! hahah

Buster Keaton kicks Chaplins arse every day of the week.

I've seen "Modern Times" and "The Great Dictator", both excellent films, with "Modern Times" possibly being the greatest Chaplin film ever. I haven't seen "The Gold Rush" though, anyone seen any Fatty Arbuckle? I'm curious about seeing more of his films after reading Jerry Stahl's novel "I, Fatty", an intresting fictional autobiography. I love those old films, I'm also a big fan of "Our Gang", "The Three Stooges" and "Laurel and Hardy"

oooh i like the three stooges too! i have a three stooges lunchbox that i use to take to school!!
|
I love Charlie Chaplin. Check out Monsieur Verdoux, it's a later one like Limelight (which I only thought was ok), but it's amazing. And you must see City Lights, that's his best one in a bunch of great ones.
