I'm listening to "Sister" right now, & everytime I hear it, I get blown away.
Like I said, Steve does a great job on "Pacific Coast Highway" live.
Another good one is "Paper Cup Exit"

Yeah Sister is great for drumming so is Goo Dirty and Daydream Nation they be some bad ass beats

i really love his work on syr1, he totally kept the whole thing in check, as well as in parts of karenology. as for a specific song, unfortunately my fave sy drumming is by richard edson...the burning spear.

Steve is da man, a true inspiration for me... can't point out a single song, love everything... I like the way he handled TRILOGY off DDN, I love the stuff from DIRTY, JC especially... he shines on A THOUSAND LEAVES... he goes weird on NYCG&F... he's da man, period.

Although Sister is one of my favorite albums period I remember Steve saying he was dissatisfied with the drum sound on sister. He thought it was too low in the mix, which i kind of agree with.

I read about him saying he didn't like the tonal quality of the drums recorded through the all-tube vintage equipment - too warm and frayed sounding or something like that. I love how they sound.

I know what you mean about Sister's drum sounding not as good as it could have. The toms shounded like shit when he was playing them.

It's strange nobody talked about White Cross, Steve is really great on it, live :)

Hell yeah, Steve is a fucking madman on White Kross. And that short instrumental breakdown bit of Teenage Riot where it's just one chord for a few seconds -- he's crazy. Steve's amazing.

I always liked his performance on Paper Cup Exit. Right around 4:10, when they break into noise where the second part of the chorus would be, and there's like 30 seconds of awesome drum fills... good stuff.

the best steve beat is unmade bed. How he EQ's his drums is also vital. Esepcially on a track like Schizophrena

this is tough. He's such a dead on drummer. His tempo is metronomic.

"Nevermind (What Was It Anyway?)" is great latter-day Steve. But "Stereo Sanctity," "Death to our Friends," "Dirty Boots" and "Cross the Breeze" are the foundation. True too about SYR 1. He is the anchor.

i think "beauty lies in the eye" is one of my fav steve moments. very effective drumming.
