I had to go with the Addams Family. The Munsters were just monsters, and their family didn't make sense to me (a vampire had a daughter that looks like the bride of Frankenstein's monster, then she marries Frankenstein's monster, and they have a werewolf for a son??). The Addams Family were just messed up people, which is way creepier to me.

How about just Carolyn Jones as Morticia. SHWING.

I chose the Addams Family because they do not seem as tame as the munsters. The Addams family is sardonic, witty and absolutely fucked up, that's what i love about them.

Addams Family - no competition. I own all the DVDs of the TV show and the two theatrical films.

At the time Gomez and Morticia were the most sexual most in-love couple ever on TV. HOW WEIRD a married couple showing sexual attraction between each other.

Lurch stole the show on TV.

The thing that's always drawn me most to The Munsters, aside from the whole monster-family gimmick is the onslaught of cheap, humorous, and ultimately wacky practical effects they use in each episode. Every episode is chock full of ingenious visual gags. Also, the dialogue is 80% bad horror puns... some of it coming off almost like a John Waters film.

as a youth, Wednesday was almost as delicious to me as the pink Buggaloo; whereas, Herman Munster's fucking idiot laugh and dragster made me want to destroy things.

I used to have the soundtrack album for The Addams Family TV show, which took me ages to track down some 25 years ago. Some of the music was beautiful... Morticia's Song was my favourite, though I never heard it in an episode.

Lily is actually a vampire.

And if you remember, Grandpa can turn into a wolf at times, so his Grandson being a werewolf/part vampire isn't really that strange.

Herman's a frankenstein monster, but really he's made of all human parts, so him having a baby with a vampire isn't that odd.

as a kid the addams family was not on te air (80's). They only came back on nick at nite after I was older and did not watch it at all except to lust after Morticia.
The Munsters were funny . I like them both. neither show is great

i have vague recollections of this but the addams were way cooler in my eyes-- they were true eccentrics, horny, into s/m, had a lust for life (and dead things), and didn't want their kids getting brainwashed at school. they were goths before there was a name for it.

plus, the train explosions ruled.

i couldn't watch it today though (it's up on netflix). it would put me to sleep.
