Nintendo DS lite
 

What's the good word? I woke up this morning and realized i think i need this. Anyone have one? Recommendations/suggestions/advice? Ever smoke pot and listen to The Diamond Sea while playing one?

i have one and barely ever use it....it's been months since i turned it on

Easily the greatest gaming system around right now and actually might be my favorite of all time besides the SNES or the PS1.

You can easily find one that ISN'T lite for $50 at a pawn shop; lite ones will run you $80 or so at pawn shops.

All the Castlevania games, Electroplankton, all the Atlus games, Advance Wars, Disgaea DS, Contra 4, and probably that new Sonic game.. you should be happy.

I traded mine for a PSP last year. I like the psp a lot more. In my opinion, Sony wins in every way EXCEPT for the actual NINTENDO-made games (ie: Zelda, Mario, etc). But the web browser/wi-fi on PSP is way better. The video capabilities are way better. The mp3 player is way better. And so on.

The only psp games I'm interested in are joan d'arc, valkyrie profile, and Patapon. Otherwise, the games kinda suck a lot.

Though the early psp's were cool because you could emulate all the other systems -- including ds (not sure how touch screen worked on that though) -- on it! Not sure if you still can though, someone told me they got that fixed..

Most of my PSP games are just like compilations of arcade games or old console games. Time-killing games mostly. I mainly use my PSP for mp3 player, video player, web browser. I use my PS2 for my uh "serious gaming". haha.

can you play Rock Band 2 on it?

fuck no, you can't.

Love my DS Lite.
Hardly ever use the PSP that my dad has. The games aren't as fun if you ask me.

absolutely right.

its definately right up in my top 3 game systems, and by far my favourite portable. all the games atsonicpark mentioned are worth a purchase plus a lot more (the Korg DS-10 synth module is pretty nice, when it comes to music stuff)

plus it features a full scale gameboy advanced, and almost all classic snes games are available for that, and one of my most played games while driving bus/train is super mario world the direct port from the snes. its even better when played outside, haha

and chrono trigger ds comes out reeeeeeeeeal soon!

its great.. its handy and fast and quirky.. keep using it for fun games, nothing too taxing... a great little agdget!

hell yes, thats a unique one, played it through a couple of weeks ago. now I am levelling up pins n stuff, which gets a little mit lame after a while, but the game got a shitload to offer I think, and the style is just amazing!

btw anybody know if the bluemsx emulator runs on a DS? I would kill for a portable version of SD Snatcher

DS Lite is fun. We play Olympic2008, Sonic Party and have 2 Nintendögs to care for. With some other games (Winx Club / Sonic Rush) i paid at least 200€ / 300$ now ?!

I bought a memory card, but i hate downloading.
So i'm stuck. I never should have made a promise to the little girl.

Ive managed after 2 hours to run my snatcher copy on my computer, holy fuck I am feeling like a hacker/floatingslowly...

my mom bought herself one for christmas. I dont really think I'd have time to play a DS.. plus... I'm more of a big screen girl now. :s

it makes me feel like a massive whiner, but my sisters all buy the most ridiculous gifts for their kids. I dunno.. I just can't understand why they ahve to have it and they have to have it now.. yr breeding consumerist children to grow up as consumerist adults.

they all have DS and have since they came out.. kids are 6, 6, and 9.. the 9 year old got an ipod for her last birthday so now her little brother is getting one of the new ipod nanos for christmas. He will be like 7 ffs, surely his need for 30,000 toons on demand and an accelerometer and small portable technology (sp)is pretty limited at this age and its just buying for the sake of it

thanks for the words...i picked one up with ffIV (nerd)...im pretty much getting it for the rpgs, platformers, and puzzle/weird games...mainly to kill time while waiting for my stoner band-mates to show up to jam

FFiv is cool. I'm about 20 hours into that game.

then you did exactly the right, this thing is a real good time killer and if you arent into high end 3D graphics and you like rpgs/platformers

I enjoy the PSP just as much as the DS. ON the DS you can buy a memory card and use it like an emulator too.

Yeah, I had one of those. I rocked a lot of homebrew on the DS. But the card itself was flimsy, and broke after about a year, so instead of replacing it I traded in my DS for a PSP.

My favorite genre is actually puzzle games, and the DS has my favorite puzzle game (planet puzzle league.. aka pokemon puzzle and tetris attack) ..

She is and got this DS toy at 7. In her class of say 10, 4 cant afford such things, 5 already got one. I must say when their sending (handwritten) messages to eachother in a funny way, i see no problems.
As a counterweight we also work in our vegetablegarden, go cycling, play boardgames or read a book.

I like some puzzle games... been rocking KLAX on my PSP. It's on the Midway Aracade Treasures collection. I get a lot of those bunch-of-old-games-on-one-disc collections.

I liked quirk on the old gameboy pretty mch when it comes to puzzle games, and of course tetris and some of its clones. but afterall I am not that puzzle guy I think

I like crosswords a lot. And Jeopardy. for real. I have Jeopardy for PS2 that I bought used, and the cover is signed by Alex Trebek. I dont know if it's real. But I like to pretend.

Handhelds are the best for puzzle games.
