when are they gunna announce the uk, europe dates?
no mass dates?!?!?!?! im coming all the way from israel and i might not see them:-(
i might have to go to the NY show... |
you just know that show at CBGB's is going to be epic!, i sooo want to go, lucky new yorkers!
no florida :(
that's pretty sweet, though. there's a teensy chance i can make it up to atlanta. |
None in the cities.
Fuck. |

i think, there won´t be any europe-tourdates!!! |
There will be some European dates at the end of the year around the time of ATP... I reckon.
all of this info is from billboard, right? any more info anyone finds on the cbgb show please let us know!
Slim pickings here in the battleground state of Ohio. At least we get one in Cleveland. Probably won't make that trip. Looks like another summer of not seeing the Youth live...unless I make it to Lollapalooza.
Son of a bitch, no New England dates???
Sacramento?! Why aren't they coming down more without PJ?!
I feel the same way, Fugazifan. I cant believe they havent announced any Massachusetts dates yet. I mean Thurston and Kim actually live here and they havent cemented any dates here yet? I hope they set up at least one show here. I cant imagine the band not stopping by here on their tour. Massachusetts has supported the indie scene for a very long time now, above all Sonic Youth.
I really hope that if/when SY books a dte in MA, the Flaming Lips will come with. I've heard some rumors about the Lips possibly touring w/ SY and I really want that to happen here.
For that not to happen would sorely dissapoint me.
tickets on sale friday at 10 for the cbgbs show!
Fuck Yeah!!!!
This is a blessing and a curse....I live in OK for 27+ years and have DREAMED about them coming to the Cain's!!! Be it my luck the year I move away they finally decide to play it!!! lol...I am only and Dallas though, and will surely be making the trek to see them at such a great historic venue! Whoever is responsible for this booking...THANK YOU with all my soul. This is seriously the show of a lifetime for me!
I really wasn't expecting them to come to Florida... but it's shitty that they are playing in Atlanta on a Monday... if it were on the weekend I'd probably be able to make the drive up there. I also don't understand why they are playing in Kansas and Oklahoma but hardly any big cities.
Wait, so the only way I'll be able to see them live is if I pay the ungodly amount of money required to see a shit act like Pearl Jam live?
Fucking fuck fuckers. |
DC! Fuck yeah!
Damn! Looks like I won't be seeing them this summer, unless they annouce some more dates. Oh well, there's always that Radiohead tour.
There's 3 supporting bands on the bill? Hmm. I know of Be Your Own Pet. Anybody heard of Awesome Color?
Quote:
yeah, hopefully they'll visit toronto/montreal/ottawa near the end of the year. |
the asheville NC tickets are already on sale through the venue's website. FYI.
This is awesome to wake up to. Looks like I'll be moving to Colorado a month or so early. Sweet!
I've heard that they are staying out of Canada as a protest to Neil Young's latest release. As Thurston says "Neil's being way to harsh on the President. Why doesn't he just move back to Canada, eh??"
Kim was seen in the background nodding her head approvingly. |

tickets for this show will be $25. check out ticketweb for info... |
i'll be jumping all over those tickets. see tour opening and get a chance to attend show at cbgb's (never been & most likely SY's last there). joy!
DC's in the house jump jump for joy.

what the fuck. no toronto. man i hope they come up here. I dont get it, i just dont. this tour sucks without canada. Not even Vancouver. I think that they will announce more later. They better!
oh wait.
"SY SUMMER SHOWS 2006- NEW DATES ANNOUNCED Sonic Youth have announced a three week headlining tour of the USA which will get started up at CBGB's June 13." Maybe they announce US first and other counties later. |
Maybe after Chicage they will pop up to Canada. Oh god, third post in a row. Ill stop.
Why are they doing this skimp ass tour, this is fucking shitty, I'll have to go to fucking lollapalooza to see them, this is some bullshit. They just said fuck the midwest huh?
fuck the usa
9:30 Club! YES.
Man...I want more dates!
Aug. 3: Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (Blossom Music Center)
WHY THE FUCK CAN'T THAT BE IN JUNE? |
Vancouver???
There will be a second leg of the tour, but yeah I'd be pissed if they weren't near me for this go around. Hop in the car and take off folks! Make a weekend out of it! Also, I'm guessing The Lips won't be playing with them on this leg???
