I Need a Job For 3 Months This Summer
Any suggestions?
Keep in mind that I'll be living by the beach in a rather touristy area. |
Be a beach doctor.
|
Is there much call for muscle marys there?
|
Or a beachcomber.
|
Or make and sell beach related bathroom accessories:

Beach doctor sounds good. Something beach related would be nice since I'm moving to a cold place in August.
|
gigolo, perhaps?

I'd like to make more than $50 a week, thanks. I know how much this tub of goo is worth. |
ha ha ha. sorry.
street musician? (in a touristy area, play "classic rock"-- ew, yes, but popular w/ the boomers) |
Now there's an idea. But I only really play the cello. I guess I could attach my pickup and learn some Steely Dan......
|
stick shells to things and sell them to stupid tourists.

Now THAT would be cool. Go for that. I learned the solo to "Freebird" on my violin once. |

do cellos tan i the sun? you could plug and amp, & play rocknroll cello http://youtube.com/watch?v=wNf2cW3Lij4 look, he's shirtless too! coming soon to a beach near you. -- ps-- please dont do it like this http://youtube.com/watch?v=d1PtQxtq1...elated&search= |
My cello would melt in the sun, good point. The top would probably start sliding off, the bridge and sound post would then pop out violently and the strings would just go limp.
How about like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FlGBMAgDG...elated&search= |

a winning formula. the rednecks on vacation would eat it up. btw, which beach area would this be? Quote:
so are you going to rochester?? |
It's the Hilton Head/Tybee Island area. Not Rochester, Madison.

never heard of that. i'll have to google... oh! south carolina! PERFECT classic rock territory. go forth! go forth & thrash! (im wondering though if the electric cello would cost you more than you'd make, cos aren't those expensive...??) you could be crew on a boat too... you'd have to be servant to the rich, but i understand it pays well & you get fed. anyway, if rocknroll star doesn't pan out, you could resort to this... http://www.sciway.net/jobs/hiltonheadisland.html -- i see lifeguard jobs listed! ![]() |
Well, I'll be living on Wilmington Island, GA. So, I was thinking of commuting to Hilton Head or Tybee. Tybee is very redneck and Hilton Head is more upscale.
|
you could have 2 cellos-- the electric for tybee, the real one for "fancy reataurants"
of course upscale means just rednecks with better credit... :D |
Reataurants? Don't you mean eataurants??
|
freudian slip i suppose
-- agh, i gotta get to work-- no fun for me this weekend! |
I'm in need of a job for the summer too. I've send queries and made phone calls, but even the cleaning companies said there's no open jobs. Doesn't look too good, I'm getting desperate.
Around here the applying for the summer jobs usually starts in january, and I didn't start untill march so I suppose I can't blame anyone but myself. |
when employment fails, enterpreneurship is the way to go

You can get a job doing maintenance for a golf course. That's what I do and I only work about half a year
|
i just got a job at Target. woo.
it'll be cool; i have some pretty good friends who work there. |
