Daydream Nation in NYC just announced for July 28th (about time)

Sonic Youth are excited to announce a NYC performance of the Daydream Nation album: July 28 at the McCarren Park Pool in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Presale Tickets available May 2 at 10AM Eastern. Public Tickets onsale Friday May 4 at noon Eastern. Additional Daydream Nation performances in the USA include July 13 at the Pitchfork Music Festival, on July 19 at the Berkeley Community Theater in Berkeley, CA and July 20 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

Considering asking my parents if they want to drive me 6 hours to NYC this summer. If so, I'd have to sell my V Fest and Arcade Fire tickets, but I truly don't care. One of my favourite albums of all time... I'd love to see this.

It'd be unthinkable to not have a DDN show in NYC.

we were at both...the first one gets a slight edge because they played
"world looks red" (monstrous!) but the second one had the better setlist
(no doubt due to the fact they were headlining that day).

its not listed on the presale site! wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i guess the pre-sale sold out in a few hours time if not less, i'd jump on them 10am on the dot on friday

We'll find out after we start seeing the setlists from the other DDN dates in the coming months. I'm so fucking excited, the pool is such a perfect place for this. And it's huge so all the SY fans can come!

well it would likely be the same if they chose to play DC, i mean the 930 club may not be large enough to do for this kind of thing if they even come here, are you thinking of making the trip up?

$35 is way cheaper than the UK price, which comes to about $50. I guess we have to pay for them to fly over to us though, whereas all you guys have to pay is taxi fares.

Has Clear Channel sold off Live Nation yet or are they still the same company?

well, before this i was thinking seriously of flying out to chicago to see this, and i still may. anyone that didnt get tickets are you getting paranoid about this selling out? its in the back of my mind, you think they would add a second show for sunday if it does sell out?
