whose sig pics do you block?
 

if you use something like adaware on a pc or pith helmet on a mac to selectively block images and yr using a utility like that to selectively block users' sig pics (i.e. you haven't completely disabled the viewing of sigs in yr user settings), whose pics are you blocking?

i'm trying to get a sense of at what size the dimensions just become too annoying to bear so that i might implement something that disallows images beyond a certain size. i think right now i personally only have marleypumpkin, rhys and screamingskull's blocked.

i also block all signatures... however some people may enjoy them for whatever reason

so here's an idea-- how about you allow signature pics up to the *height* of avatars?

oh wait... there are avatars already. isnt that like a signature pic?

nothing personal. it's just something about square sigs that are over 50 pixels or so.

I disable the sigs completely. A pic no matter what size is too annoying to me.

^^ yeah, plus there are times when i'm browsing a thread and it turns into a picture fest. very annoying

whats the point in having a signiture if no one uses it?, and how can a signiture be "too annoying".
people never used to be this petty about stuff on the old board, now people are getting all annoyed about signitures and posing in the correct place.
i wont show my signiture in this post. make it less annoying.

text signatures aren't annoying, i think what we're trying to say is giant photos as signatures can be a pain in the ass.

it's not so much about pettiness. i don't have a problem with sig pics cos i turn off them off selectively. it's more a matter of usability. i did some tests from dialup last night and found the larger sig pics to be troublesome. i also know that a lot of users connect via dialup, so i'm trying to look out for everyone. i just want the board to work well and serve pages quickly, so i'm trying to determine what i can optimize.

because redundant images are annoying.

oh okay, if its about making the board easier to use then i dont have any problem with them being blocked, i just thought it was like being added to a diss list.

no. not at all. it's a usability decision i have to make.

How do you block sigs by the way? I have looked in the settings and FAQ but I can't find any help. I know I'm probably being a bit dim so could someone help out an idiot?

in the top menu go to
your settings
then open
edit options (listed under control panel)
scroll down to thread viewing options
put a checkmark as needed
SAVE CHANGES before you exit

i don't block any. sometimes if i'm just scrolling through a thread it's easy to tell who said what because of sigs.
