No, negative rep brings down BOTH users rep points and ranking.. whenever you are neg repped it negates some of your overall rep points which is what the ranking is by.. of course ot also takes away some rep points from the person who neg reps you..
|
It won't ban or anything and its only a few points lost but it does do something
|
god please grant me strength to get through this week... i want my vacation. i've never been more stressed. well, i have. but still.

Good attitude. I tend to think, "This is life from now on" and get miserable. Your way is better. Quote:
I wish I hadn't read this. My two favorite vices, which, after 20 years, I should bid farewell to. Damn it. I once worked at an office where they ran out of regular and used decaf and didn't tell anyone. Around noon, I felt really shitty. By the time I got home, I had a full blown migraine, complete with dry heaves. A cup of regular coffee later and I was right as rain. What a sick way to live. |
oh my god, that sounds like hell. that's a good prank though, switch to decaf for a bit, then next day go full-strength.
i hate the taste of water and started using those little flavor add-ins, and one of them has something like 50 mg of caffeine in a squeeze (and i use 3 squeezes to fill a 24 oz water bottle.) i think i go through a half of it a day or i'm grumpy as hell. |
pure water has no taste. My wife hates the "taste" of water too. What you are tasting are the dissolved minerals and things in the water. (you need those trace minerals too BTW)
|
Decaf is a sin like O'Douls is blasphemy
|
hahah. I sometimes get a Buckler or another of the European non-alcoholic beers to go with my dinner. You would not believe the amount of judgement a 41 year old man gets from regular people when he drinks a soda or iced tea while everyone is enjoying their poison liquids.

The problem with my bank is sorted and I got fully refunded... just waiting for a new card to be sent out now.
I had another issue though, with my phone. My phone bill was double what it usually is and I'm sure I hadn't gone over my data usage allowances. They kept telling me to be more careful and to check my data usage regularly but I told them it doesn't show on my online account. They also said they send out notifications when I get near the limit and I have never received one from them. After speaking with them for almost an hour they finally admitted it was a mistake and will be refunding me for the extra charges. They were pretty much saying I was lying to start with... :/ Not happy with the customer services from my bank or mobile phone provider but at least it is sorted now... I hope! |
^^^Great news, Stu!
It's so disappointing when companies don't provide the service you pay for. Over the past year, we changed cable and cell phone providers......the difference is night and day! |

Why not just get a beer? |

I. Bloody. Got. It. I got it! I got the bloody job.

whooooo!!!

oh, hey, that's awesome it's sorted out. your phone provider doesn't have a good unlimited deal? i kinda pay too much for my service but it's the only provider that doesn't throttle data (of which i use a fuckton.) yay for the bank. |

yeah, it all just tastes nasty to me |

oh ha ha ha ha ha ha ha excellent! and don't worry, if everyone bands together you'll survive this! Quote:
good to hear you got over that whole mess. Quote:
he's allergic to alcohol Quote:
i read this. it's pretty good. but i think it's more exacerbated in some cultures than others. no? i think americans are a lot like that. or maybe my childhood friends were a bunch of sensitive effeminates, because we never had a problem talking about our many sorrows-- and yes, we were also trained in violence early, but it always possible o switch gears-- not just when "i love you brother" drunk but just regular-- girl troubles, whatever, we talked. that's much harder to do with gringos though, i've found. |
disassociated and permanently depressed? thats me
our culture of competitive macho hedonism/violence etc. finishes off more than a few that article is the first time ive seen anyone who doesnt try to BLAME men on the problems of masculinity, like everyone else does. "if only theyd share their feelings more blah blah blah". what it doesnt mention is the fact nobody gives a shit. i can list of person after person i know who is dead or dying slowly through addiction/depression/mental illness and noone gives a fuck about any of them and they know better than to trust the positive thinking bullshit of ssri happy pysch ward docs. also another very good point made "they already ARE male". exactly, you dont have to genderise people because they already fucking are what they are. |
can think of so many people this applies to. 2 friends have been severely traumatized by events from their childhood/teenage years that resurface if you drink with them long enough and noone will ever sit and listen to them. they are alcoholics and will die from it and noone gives a shit, and they will get nothing but blame and shame from everyone or neuro toxic drugs from doctors.
|
I'm not worrying about surviving anything but the people I'm leaving behind might start worrying about how they'lll get along without me.

ha ha ha i was referring to some sort of mythical jungian scales-- how life kisses you and then slaps you, or the other way around. eh, the man was likely a massive quack. e.g., soon after we decided to move to a new better place, a flash flood almost ate our house. it was vaguely biblical. anyway at some point i'd like to hear the details of how the famous interview went. |

I am allergic to alcohol. Hives, my hands swell up to where I cannot close my fingers, I turn red all over and itch uncontrollably. I stopped drinking around age 21 cuz of this. It's a shame because I love the taste of a cold beer on a hot sweaty day. |

Yep. I get it. Life's never perfect. The down side of all this--I have to start over, I'm entering the unknown. I'll PM you some details of the interview. I'm not sure they're suitable for print here. Overall, it went extremely well.

that was good, thanks for humoring my curiosity. watch out for meteorites! |
i have to wait a month for some official adhd test/interview then the doc i saw (this is all affiliated with the local university and luckily insurance is being fairly helpful) said we'll start with a regiment of medication based on those results. thinks i have co-morbid inattentive type adhd and an anxiety disorder and i guess he wants to be sure rather than just throw medicine at me? which is fine. i'm actually happier with a doctor wanting to be thorough and right.
denis leary has a new show on fx thursday with greg dulli from the afghan whigs doing the music. i'm actually kinda stoked for this. congrats again gmku and safe flight, suchfriends |

Not suitable for legal/ethical reasons? |
Privacy, mainly. Mine.

Indeed. Now, I have to tolerate the wait for the official offer letter. It's driving me nuts. I can't hand in my resignation or tell anyone until I have that in hand, and in the meantime, I have to act as if I'm still engaged at work.

maybe try it out slowly at first? you know --she rents a studio, you guys commute on weeekends... eh, who am i kidding, living away from family sucks. o a lo mejor pueden vivir a medio camino... si te interesa, léete un libro.. como se llama...
