Thanks! I'm trying to decide what's next because nothing is coming on TV. I really want to watch Valley Girl but I don't have a copy. So, it'll either be A New Hope, Gangs of New York, or Wayne's World. |
a new hope would be my choice.
|
Yeah, that's where I'm leaning, but first...some Nintendo because I'm a creature of habit.

i think i'm hitting the hay. this week's been hell and i need sleep.

I just watched Fantastic Planet tonight and it was every bit as good as I'd hoped. Very surreal visually, but more true to science fiction than I'd actually expected. My wife commented that it was very ahead of it's time for 1973, but I'm not sure that's exactly true as animations such as The Point were contemporary and 2001 A Space Odyssey had already been in the big theaters. Nonetheless it is a very striking piece of film art with a subtle political undercurrent.
Here's a really cool trailer. ![]() |
![]() not a great documentary but still... kind of endearing. |

Not Control, but a real documentary? Even though Control focused a LOT on Ian Curtis' love triangle, and COULD have made a person want to grab him by the shoulders and shake his sad eyes off his face and tell him to pick a girl and get on with it, it really did well at making it out to be more than that. That whoever this Control Ian Curtis is, he is at a point in his life where there is a perfect draw between experience and the sure thing, and freedom, openness, and the unknowable future. And feeling undeserving of both. To be so stuck that you could explode. Thats what the movie was like. |
