i just saw steve eisman on bloomberg say that regardless of democratic candidates he's 100% sure trump wins is november because there will be student protests and burnings of israeli and american flags outside the conventions which he says will be game over

his opinion i think was not as a partisan but as a portfolio manager who has a lot riding on infrastructure monies, monies which he says trump won't be able to take away

What the recent news about the assassination attempt shows is that there may be some indication the whole MAGA cult has reached a point where the monster Trump created (it is very much a monster creating another monster here) may turn on him given certain circumstances. I mean that question has been up in the air for a while. The way they turned on Pence during the insurrection of Jan 6 and how loudly they booed at Cheeto when he had a fleeting moment of sanity in praising the COVID vaccine...

Scary fucking times.

Edit: That's not saying there is any indication the MAGA crowd as a whole is turning on him any time soon. I'm afraid the recent attack will only solidify his image in their minds. But here and there you see those cracks, his own vitriol coming back towards him.

Yeah, it's becoming increasingly likely. Dude caught COVID now at 81 and after weeks of intense pressure and scrutiny, as well as some confounding interviews and remarks. Now would be a good time to throw in the towel for him - focus on recuperating and passing someone else (most likely Harris) the torch. I've come around to welcoming his bow out. The last few weeks just proved that his energy is very finite these days. At this point there is no reason for him to push on in the state he is in. It's like someone trying to run a marathon whilst also covering a gaping wound on his belly that needs immediate medical attention with one of his hands.

Or not. Apparently he said he'll be back on the road again next week. Willie Nelson has a better chance of beating TFG.
