Oh, I recently netflix- queued all warner herzog movies, all abel ferrara movies I hadn't seen, and all brian depalma movies I hadn't seen.
|
Werner Herzog > God. "Aguirre, Wrath Of God" is one of the best films ever.
|
Started watching Hot Fuzz today.
I liked what I saw but I didn't actually see all of it. Had to jump over some scenes because of skipping, then my mom came to pick me up so I didn't see the end. |
I was not a big fan of Hot fuzz...
|
No?
I dunno, I can't give a true opinion because like I said, I didn't see it all. Actually, come to think of ti I missed other parts because I was picking meat off my pizza haha. Usually, I don't go for movies like it though. Which is why I haven't seen it until now. |

oh my gawd, i loved a*teens!!! all abba songs sound better with techno beats and pro-tools production values. i loved that they had to have two guys and they did nothing except dance in the background and sing "su-papa, troo-papa". Quote:
is this the movie with the kid who watches the neighbor girl through the windows, plays this virtual reality game and somehow aerosmith is involved? |
Batman.
|
yeah, all that.
i don't remember aerosmith being in it though. |
hmmmm, i saw it a long time ago and never knew what it was called.
i do remember aerosmith, either a song or a poster or something appears in it, if not them (and by them i mean steven tyler and/or joe perry). or i'm seriously confused. |

what's funny is, gag factor 18 is banned in arizona.
why # 18 and none of the others? I dunno. But it's probably my favorite, it has this chick named TIGER on it, some asian chick with electrical tape in the shape of X's over both eyes. Hot. |
yeah, but everybody know that gag factor 24 is when it really got good...
|
true true.
You know they offer these as box sets right? I think I know what I'm gettin dear ol' dad this year! |
Jandek on Corwood (2003) 9/10 < I need to get some of his early stuff, after seeing this.
Atonement (2007) 7/10 Grizzly Man (2005) 6/10 < Treadwell was an idiot. Zoo (2007) 9/10 < Beautiful and haunting all at the same time. Also, the soundtrack is perfect. |
I mentioned this flick before because I watch it a couple of times a year:
The God of Cookery written, directed, and starring Stephen Chow. The greatest comedy film ever conceived by the mind of man. (apologies to the tag line of the Mysterians) ![]() ![]() ![]() |
![]() This was the last movie I watched, I enjoyed it! I really like Pasolini's movies!! |
![]() I've probably seen this more times than should be allowable by law for someone my age. |
I absolutely love Stephen Chow, I need to see more.
![]() body parts - 7/10 Very cronenberg-influenced, surprisingly well-made and exciting the whole time. I thought as soon as dude found out he had the arm of a killer's, it'd just be him killing people or whatever but it ended up taking a few exciting directions. |

after watching 4 heavy depresing movies that ended in suicides I had to watch something nice

Yeah Rob..
It's weird, I actively search out really gory or trashy or bizarre/experimental films....... but there's nothing like going back to stuff like Babe, Home Alone, Dutch, all those films I loved when I was younger. |
Quote:
nah, i know that movie by heart. |

This movie is so fucking sexy. |
Whoa - I was just reading a bit about Lauren Bacall because of this post - and it turns out she's first cousins with Shimon Peres.

Well, it's a shot-by-shot remake of the original, BY the original director. SO in a way you only need to see one or the other.
I thought it was excellent. It was realistic, disturbing and yet had a very good use of social commentary as well as sort of pointed injokes at fans of so-called "torture-porn." Stylistically, it's great. Wide shots, stationary cameras, no music create a realistic feel... then all the sudden the "fourth wall" is broken for a moment. (you'll see). And all the acting was great (no surprises there, great cast). See it. |
