I'm Ryan, I'm from Raleigh, NC (originally from Warwick, RI), and I really like Sonic Youth. Growing up, my parents would always play their records, and now I'm a bigger fan than they are.

And DDN is my favorite SY album, possibly my favorite album ever

Yeah my parents were never so fond of Sonic Youth, although I'm sure they like them better than some of my other music haha (for example, anything slightly punk)

Yeah they really dug EVOL-->Dirty, but I never heard EVOL till about a year ago, cause I had it on vinyl, and we never had a player by the time I got around. Second album I ever bought with my own money was Murray Street, and I really thought it was the new DDN (I was young, I wouldn't say that now), and I've seen them live a couple of times, could've actually gone, stayed with a friend in NYC, and gone to the Battery Park show..but oh well

Reason I said "I really like SY" is that when I go on some sites, I don't like the band the site is devoted to that much. Not the case here

Ahh yes, I remember joining up two years ago when I was 14. Back then, they had just upgraded to the new board.

i was...16?? yes. sixteen and a little fucking snot. shortly after the new board came about, then chrissie habib banned me for no reason and i came to be cantankerous.

I think I was 14 when I discovered SY, that was before I discovered the internet. I was 15 when I joined.

I was 14 or 15 when I signed up.

getting older sucks in the mornings when you wake up with a monumental hangover and you realise your body does not recover as fast as it used to, say, 2-3 years ago. this is my today's case.

it does for me. 1939 was the year I was born in.
