Well, you don't necessarily "need" to, but it's definitely worth it. Except for some boring side quests it's a really nice game, you can import your last savegame to ME2 (so you have the same looking character with all his/her background in terms of decisions made in ME1, and there are a few big ones). I played ME2 for like 20 mins (I'm away from home these days :() and I'm already hooked, looks better, "feels" better, the storyline seems really intriguing... Also you get a sort of "3 questions quiz" that sums up the main decisions in ME1, not sure wether this is just becuz I imported my savegame or it's a sort of quick summary for those who didn't play it (after you answer you'll find in the codex, a sort of "in game wiki", paragraphs about the "ME1 storyarc" according to your decisions, to help you catch up with the events). Anyways, play the first one, avoiding sidequests to save time (you level up with those, but in the end in ME2 there's just a money bonus for the level you reached in 1, you start from scratch in terms of skills etc). You'll get to know the characters (dialogues are really nice overall, as are the different "personalities" of your crew) and some crucial moments are definitely worth playing through. If you don't give a shit about continuity etc (remember it's supposed to become a trilogy) just start with ME2. |

the fact that you posted this publicly, rather than via PM makes me want to stick around. BTW, that link above. That's my new game blog if it wasn't obvious. |
of course it's obvious. been there / seen that!
Rob Instigator has been telling stories about you by singing along to the Violent Femmes. :( stay please. I don't mind if you talk about battletoads. by yeah, I can't get Embryonic out of my car stereo. |
1. what's the Rob Inst story?
2. strangely, I never picked up Embryonic or Dark Side Of The Moon. I have no idea why. |
umm...Darkside didn't sounds so good. I blame Henry Rollins.
Embryonic might be the best thing since Clouds. re: Rob I "Gone Daddy Gone" |
oh yeah I think I saw that Rob thing when I was a Lerkin'.
Every review of Embryonic made it sound amazing. But I didnt buy it. Which is so weird cuz I always buy their albums. Even the ones that get bad reviews. And the EP's. And the live ones. And blah blah. I don't expect DARK SIDE to be great, but I can't help but want it since it's a favorite band covering a favorite album. I can't fight off the curiosity forever. |
reviews on iTunes for Darkside heralded it as "the death of music".
it would be much better if Wayne wasn't trying too hard to keep his nephew in gigs. I got a promo of Embryonic and honestly, if it weren't for that fact, I would have never bought it. I feel like a terrible and hateful person, most especially for trolling you for listening. it's fucking beautiful. I blame Kliph Scurlock. |
Kliph & Stephen are a great team. I agree about Wayne's nephew, though I absolutely adored the cover of "Borderline."
|
that's the thing. it wasn't until THIS album that Team Princess let Kliph in on the game.
other than the Flight Test EP, he's previously been simply a "touring drummer". fan>roadie>toadie>glory HIS drumming adds back what has been missing. I highly recommend the s/t album by the band Carrier. it's one of the many bands that Kliph has ragequit, but unlike most crap, it's beautiful. if you can't find and still have interest, I'll rip it TONIGHT. |
