I'm guessing that the majority of Trumpkins don't care much for rice, beans, vegetables? |
Things are getting better here in Spain, after some days with ~800 dead now we have 250-350, more cured than newly infected per day... we'll be able to go out and take the streets from the 11th may if nothing bad happens (avoiding crows obviously). A lot of encouragement to friends from other countries, especially the USA! There's light at the end of the road!

Yeah, the 11th of May is the date we've been given in my state too - I think we're doing a lot better than anywhere else. Especially given New South Wales, a date with many more infections than us, is already reopening

The message in Canada is....let's be vary cautious, and not fuck up all the progress so far.....we are not out of the woods yet.
I cannot help but feel that many places are jumping the gun. Especially some Trumpy States. |
Pence tours Mayo Clinic without wearing a mask
I guess the Babyjeezus invisibly covered his face or something. Meanwhile, in New Zealand... So, can you spot the leader? |
On a much, much lighter note, it's too bad the pandemic made Warner/HBO postpone the "reunion special" of Friends, a dumb show I never cared for but was looking forward to watching this time, only to know how in all that is fuck they would explain Courteney Cox's self-mutilation. "We're so sorry, Monica... We never thought Chandler would be an abusive husband..."

Mystery Syndrome Hits Children
Nashville Mulls 32% Property Tax Hike As municipalities start weighing how to make up for sales tax revenue loss during the quarantine, I’m afraid property tax hikes will be the option many cities choose. Factor in how many haven't been working, already behind on their bills, the fiscal depression has yet to begin. Once our Senators and Congressmen return to Washington DC (May 11, 2020), word is they will begin working on another stimulus package. I’ve heard four mentioned, the two front runners: A) pay everyone’s rent & mortgage for a year, possibly two. B) adults making less than $125k who filed taxes last year would receive $2k a month for a year, possibly two years. A married couple would receive $4k per month and $500 for each child under 18 that you claimed on your taxes. This may sound nice in the short run, but it will probably have dire consequences down the road. |

There's going to be a fucking civil war if Trump wins again (which I will admit is quite possible, given the apathy towards middle-of-the-road-Joe, and the steadfastness of the Night Of The Living Dead zombie Trumpkins, which we witness in these threads), and how the fuck long will Ruth hang on? |

This Kung flu is the least of our worries. Brace up for the economic aftermath that will soon follow. Stay safe y'all!

I fear the long-term economic costs of a prolonged lockdown far more than the virus itself. |

Damn right, but we can't leave gramps and nanna out in the cold, now can we? This virus has just bitch-slapped us back to the 1920s! |

also, it’s not just old people who are dying. people in their 30s and 40s are dying too, often of bizarre strokes. eg see https://www.businessinsider.com/coro...s-clots-2020-4 plus, this is an rna virus, which means that it mutates fast: the more room to play we give it, the more we encounter the unexpected. and because the incubation period is long, there is no selective pressure towards less lethal forms. |

True. First time I hear about people getting strokes! Damn! I was reading earlier that the virus has done a better job at paralyzing the mafia worldwide, than Giuliani, Borsellino and Falcone ever did. Go figure! |

Don't believe it. They're just biding their time, making irrefusable offers to distributers of hand-lotion. |
I know. They started delivering free food throughout Italy the minute the pandemic hit.
Still, closed restaurants and no sport events crippled them for a while. |

and would you like some rubbing alcohol that fell off a truck? |

Please DON'T. Somebody in the Dotard's White House came up with that. |
