Yeah it was a gun. Needless to say I think anyone we know avoids that part of Vancouver now.

It's a shame there are so many hopeless people.

well, I'd have to avoid every part of my city.
I'm exaggerating, of course.
like jon boy.

I don't think I am, actually.

But nobody answered my questions.

Nope, you'll still get mugged in Montreal - especially if your mother tongue is english. Though the biggest thing is bike theft, and everything else falls under.

Also re: Insite it was just last month that Insite was passed by the courts to continue operating. Prolly won't be attacked by conservatives again for a while.

No I'm absolutely serious. People in this city DON'T buy new bikes because of it. They get used bikes or build them from scratch (by stealing parts of locked up bikes). Having a car in Montreal is ridiculous because it's slower than Metro or bike, so it's pretty high demand.

Also the language issue is pretty bad. Sometimes there's marches in the Plateau of people holding signs chanting "Fuck les anglais!". My brother got jumped twice for running into drunk french purists that didn't like him because he was english.

knox 10.13.2011 01:08 PM

I know you are serious.
That's why it makes me laugh.
A world in which bike theft is the number one serious crime doesn't seem real to me.

i think he means it's the most widespread problem, as opposed number one in like.....severeness.

DeadDiscoDildo 10.13.2011 01:14 PM

I would think the biggest thing is getting beat up by the French! hahaha.

May as well kill yourself, or ride what's left of yr bike off a cliff.

DeadDiscoDildo 10.13.2011 01:15 PM

I think she gets that, and is laughing because unlike alot of other countries, the most widespread problem is not getting murdered or raped or sold.

Inhuman 10.13.2011 01:23 PM

Though I never said it was the number one serious crime in Montreal, I said it's at the top of theft. In the scope of all crime it's different. Sure it may not be as bad as NYC, or Compton, or different places in the states, though doesn't mean that Montreal is this crime-free utopia where people don't lock their doors (as depicted by Michael Moore) at night and nobody fears anyone else.

LOL SRSLY

'nuk'a stole mah bike!!!!

keep poppin pimples 10.13.2011 01:28 PM

i think petty theft is more widespread than rape and murder in a lot of places, at least i hope so

i don't know, montreal isn't even that soft, there are tonnes of gangsta ass haitian crews there, i wouldn't want to get caught stealing one of those dudes bikes, haiti is almost as hardcore as british columbia

You're unbelievable - probably never been in a situation where you're a minority. Mocking Quebec's separatism issues when you've never had to deal with the constant shit you have to put up with.

I'm not arguing that Montreal is hardcore with crime because of petty things like bike theft. But saying that just like anywhere else, there's issues other than theft.

keep poppin pimples 10.13.2011 01:42 PM

honestly i'm quebec separatist too if there isn't discrimination involved, like quebec is already funner than the rest of canada so how awesome would be it be without the influence of the canadian majority?

if montreal was close there's no way i could stand to live in alberta, as is the only major city i could move to and still see my relatives is vancouver :? and i don't know if i could live that close to seattle and not want to move to there

u mad, breaux?

knox 10.13.2011 03:06 PM

actually no.
It is estimated that domestic violence is the most common crime. That includes abuse and rape.

keep poppin pimples 10.13.2011 03:10 PM

domestic rape? i thought you received a lifetime of irrevocable consent when you got married?

i think it could happen less if they actually told us in school you have to get permission everytime
