SuchFriendsAreDangerous 06.06.2006 04:00 PM

two things two:
1) Nirvana are up there man, up there. lets be honest with ourselves, this is a sonic youth board, and Nirvana is like a patron saint of the sonicesque style of "alternative" blended music. give them their credit as musicians. the took out wacko jacko and axl rose. they ended the drudgery of terrible 80s metal and disco-ish pop, and replaced it with three chord rock music. now all the kiddies dont remember that it was black sabbath who first said, hey, lets turn this shit up real loud, because this generation has Nirvana, and the flood gates of loud are truly opened up. I dont know about you all, but Nirvana taught me how to play music, and I am eternally grateful.

2) Kurt did not kill himself. it is impossible to kill yourself with one and a half grams of morphine per liter of blood, shit it is impossible to LIVE with that much morphine in your system. He would have been dead within a minute, in a coma in seconds, definately unable to consciously write a note, and then blow your brains out with a shotgun that would essentially require to pull the trigger with your toe. whoever made a mess of kurt cobain's already dead skull sure has a lot of explaining to do.

and fuck here is 3)

Courtney love is a worser bitch then Yoko and Rita Marley combined.... that is why there is no Unplugged DVD.

HairwayToSteven 06.06.2006 04:41 PM

Nirvana is truely a great band. They were very much a gateway band for me, as with alot of other people, that opened me up to alot of bands I had never heard. Damn, I wanna listen to them now...

i read books and watched movies on the subject. and i agree, there's too much evidence pointing towards something other than suicide

SonikJesus 06.06.2006 11:34 PM

I don't know, I used to think he was killed but now I'm not sure. Courtney wasn't even in Washington when he died was she? Unless she hired someone. But I really dislike her though. She's just probably holding out on releasing the dvds for when she's broke again. That's why she doesn't release everything at once because she knows she'd blow it all off. And then she goes and uses her daughter as an excuse to release the things separately, to secure her future, to have college money.

Man, there are soooooo many great quality Nirvana studio recordings that I would want to hear.

Anyways, I used to think Kurt was cool, but now I think he was a pussy. He kept bitching about how he would not make Frances go through what he went through and then he fucking killed himself which is a million times more worse than a divorce. He was also a fake. He told all these over-dramatized stories about himself that weren't true. He always tried to act like he didn't like the fame, but yet he called MTV when they didn't play his videos enough. He also planned every detail about his shows and then acted like he didn't care. Everybody says Nirvana didn't want to be famous, but they did, well at least Kurt did. I still love Nirvana though, I love the way Krist plays bass.

finding nobody 06.06.2006 11:38 PM

he also lied about his first concert. he told everyone it was a black flag show.. but in fact it was a sammy haygar show..

SonikJesus 06.06.2006 11:44 PM

Yeah, he was embarrassed.

Yeah, I respect your opinion. you make some good points. I just wish he never started heroin. Do you think they would have broken up anyways had Kurt not died?

finding nobody 06.07.2006 12:22 AM

everyone says they would've broke up anyway. but i think they woulda gotten back together

i think so. there were too many differences between members. i think kurt would've kicked dave to the curb or left nirvana altogether...

soniknirve 06.07.2006 12:46 AM

i prefer how that token eastern song sounds than the released version...

SonikJesus 06.07.2006 12:49 AM

I have the whole session too. I got it off of a kick-ass torrent on onemoresolo.net which had almost nothing but Nirvana torrents. It was this 2-disc compilation called loose ends. Everything was the highest quality possible. I love it. I haven't heard the official release of Token Eastern song but i love this version. Whatever happened to the onemoresolo site.

soniknirve 06.07.2006 12:51 AM

it's still up and running...

alyasa 06.07.2006 12:54 AM

I remember when Nirvana first came out on the radio and on MTV, it united people. Suddenly everyone was tied together by a common love for one band. The generation had been quiet, still hungover from the greed and suicides of the 80s, all the fake hair bands with their sex and drugs and alcohol and pithy rock n roll, which was always secondary to the image, the style anyway. Nirvana brought everyone together, from the freaks to the plebians to the upper crust. The jocks and the geeks were momentarily singing along together to SLTS and everyone loved Nirvana. But I believe this was the overriding factor that overwhelmed Kurt Cobain and the band. They became more than an image, more than a band, more than a style. They became media gods and were worshipped, their every word and action gobbled up by a generation hungry for substance and something different. They were a phenomenon and they wanted to be rock star musicians.

SonikJesus 06.07.2006 12:55 AM

Aww YES!! Wasn't it down for a while? That's why I stopped going there. I checked everyday for a week then I gave up. You guys should check it out. It has almost nothing but Nirvana torrents.
