Christian Bale is on a roll. 3:10 to Yuma and Herzog's Rescue Dawn are both great films. I liked Batman Begins and The Prestige quite a bit, and am looking forward to The Dark Knight next year. He's come a long way since Reign of Fire and American Psycho. He also figures into the I'm Not There Dylan-thingy, but I haven't seen it.

I can't think of a more accomplished young actor working today except maybe Leonardo DiCaprio. Tommy Lee Jones, older, yes, is also on a serious roll with outstanding roles in No Country For Old Men and In The Valley of Elah in this same year.
