Quote:
Three of my absolute favorites. I'd have trouble giving Clerks and Phenomena any less than a 10. |

i've been watching kevin smith's stuff and it's above average but i don't really like it that much. i'm going to watch phenomena and cemetary man again when i'm less stoned because i barely remember them lol get the returners album "break up your makeup" it's based on cemetary man and pretty dope |
Cemetery Man is pretty disorienting even when you're sober lol

![]() SILENCE HAS NO WINGS - 9/10 ![]() THE HUSLER - 8/10 ![]() QUIET CITY - 8/10 ![]() MY DEGENERATION - 8/10 and about 10,000 other films I can't remember at the moment. Stendhal Syndrome rules. Best late period Argento. Brutal. I don't like Kevin Smith at all, but Clerks is a 10/10 to me. |
I've seen some films by Antonioni lately.
L'avventura - 9/10 La Notte - 10/10 L'eclisse - 8/10 Blow-Up - 8/10 Zabriskie Point - 5/10 I also watched Sex and Fury recently. 5/10. And Suna no onna by Hiroshi Teshigahara, which is a perfect movie and 10/10. |
^ Antonioni is one of my favorite directors of all time, and your ratings I agree with about 100%.

I've also seen the incommunicability trilogy recently. L'avventura was the least good for me. La notte and L'eclisse fight for the first place, with slight advantage for the latter, I think, because it seemed to be the one where Antonioni really pushed his concept as forward and inventive it could get (that ending is probably the magnum opus of a director who knew better that anyone how to end a film). Also, I think Vitti and Delon make one of the nicest couples ever caught on film. Anyway, no doubt those are three wonderful films that have a lot to put on our minds and can't be fully enjoyed with just one viewing. |

they should have just named this movie Olivia Wilde's Movie it was the only reason why i wanted to see it. |
After.Life
5/10 I like Liam Neeson as an actor and Christina Ricci has a hot body, but this...no. I'll admit some of the cinematography was cool, but it kept dangling the idea that it would have a happy ending in front of me only to snatch it away in the end, and I hate that. I seriously hope the seemingly 2000s trend of "realistic/logical" downer or bittersweet endings over "cliched/fairytale" happy endings goes away soon...people watch movies to escape from real life, which has enough downer/bittersweet endings already. |

Me + some friends watched this shit the other day..
![]() We basically felt that it's so ridiciolus that we gotta see it. |
I watched that robert pattinson movie how to deal. I thought it'd be okay, since his music is actually really good, and the movie is basically about him being a musician. It wasn't good.
I've mainly been watching old charles manson interviews, |
That's interesting, the only things I've been watching recently are Simpsons boxsets and Charles Manson documentaries.
![]() ![]() ![]() |
yeah, manson (1973) and charles manson superstar are by far the best.
I put up 3 manson interviews and the complete manson audio discography on cinemageddon last week. I HIGHLY reccomend the spoken word stuff. |
Actually.. To be honest, and I hate to say this, but I'm really really burnt out on films. Nothing has really excited me in a while, not since SHUJI TERAYAMA a few years ago. I'm actually thinking of giving away all my movies. I gave a way thousands of cd's recently and hundreds of books. My mom was pretty worried when I did that. It just amazes me that with all the technology out there, and literally ANYONE can make a film, yet there's only a few people really doing interesting things -- trecartin, damon packard, james fotopolous, and so on.
just found out jon moritsugu is doing a new film, though. he rules -- scumrock, mod fuck explosion, terminal usa, famewhore, are all masterpieces really. |
btw for all you giuseppe fans on cg, they just put up BEST OF TROMADANCE VOLUME 3, which has his GREAT 30 minute short dribble.
|
btw blow out just got a criterion release
now's everyone's chance to see the definitive version of one of the best films ever made.. |

Masculin Feminin - 20/10 Broken Flowers - 7/10 (maybe a 6) The Passenger - 8/10 |
![]() what a fucking disappointment. it's not like i expected much anyway. i went to the midnight release for my birthday last night and it was crowded. it started off good but i got bored as fuck. same old plot, dialogue, lame jokes and a fucking horrible ending. i might have gotten a chuckle out of it but that's about it. |
^ I can't even believe so many people loved the first one. I went into it expecting a good time, and only laughed once *spoiler* when the baby got hit w/ the car door. *spoiler* That was pretty funny.

Oddly enough, I've felt the same way for quite some time now, and I have much more unwatched than you do for sure. The last thing I saw was Raising Cain... which was disappointing to say the least. Thank god for my current Joss Whedon addiction, or else I'd have nothing to keep me stimulated in that sense atm. Have you been gaming more at all, by any chance? Quote:
I saw this just a couple of months ago, and the only thing I can even remember was that there was a dwarf in it. |
zombieland-5/10
machete-7/10 the black six- 6/10 |
I saw Chinatown....Pretty awesome film. Finally got where the whole "My sister, my daughter" gif was from.....
|
CHINATOWN rules. Polanski is god. Please see FRANTIC asap -- totally underrated.
Just watched DIGGSTOWN. Surprised how much I liked it. James Wood is god though. Also, no, haven't been playing video games, too bored with em. Mainly jsut been reading comics. LOVE AND ROCKETS and Jeffrey BRown's stuff ftw. 20TH CENTURY EIGHTBALL is about as brilliant as you can get, comicswise!@! |
